An exciting new opening has arisen for a Developer to join our team at RNID.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT graduate with experience of C#, ASP and .NET to support and develop a range of bespoke in-house applications.  You  will join an IT team at an exciting time as we work to improve and support applications, infrastructure and ERP software. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn new skills across a range of technology and must be keen to progress with their technical knowledge.

As well as supporting and developing current in-house applications, this is an excellent opportunity to increase your skill-set as we roll out other tools like MS Dynamics 365, Power Apps and Power BI, in a challenging and innovative environment within a hardworking and dedicated team.

Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Role:

  • To support the wide range of business systems and applications that underpin the organisation’s business process efficiency.
  • Improving in-house systems (bespoke applications and MS Dynamics) and the service that they can offer staff, volunteers and service users, with involvement in the full software development lifecycle with scope to innovate and initiate new projects as the role develops.
  • Working with business colleagues to develop robust software solutions that meet users’ aspirations, and responsibility for handling application support incidents and requests.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of software development projects and associated deliverables.
  • Fully engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects.
  • To provide maintenance of software solutions in response to application support incidents/ requests.
  • To undertake analysis, design, test and implementation of application modifications with suitable documentation at all stages
  • To act as facilitator and analyst with business managers across the organisation to clarify design requirements as the basis for any future system developments.
  • To support, maintain and advise on legacy systems.
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of emerging technologies, products and services that may be of use to our customers and share this information with the team.
  • To complete any other duties and responsibilities which are appropriate to this role.

Person Specification:





  • Practical experience of delivering browser based projects using ASP.NET (our environment includes applications using Webforms, WCF, MVC 5 and WebAPI 2), C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS & SQL.
  • Proven experience of managing successful projects
  • Experience of using varied software programmes including MS office and project management tools
  • Experience/knowledge of MS Dynamics 2011 or 365

Qualifications / Professional Training

  • Educated to degree level in an IT discipline, or equivalent, with proven experience.

Personal Qualities

  • Practical understanding of developing systems that exhibit high standards of usability and accessibility.
  • Positive and proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst having sufficient initiative to work individually.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, and able to work to deadlines
  • Team player, with a track record of achieving results through working with other people.
